Collaboration with Nordship Yachts
Between 2007 and 2009, I had the pleasure of working with Nordship Yachts on several major projects involving 3D modelling, concept development, and design solutions.
This collaboration was instrumental in developing my skills in 3D visualisation and design, while also contributing to Nordship’s innovation and launch of new models.
Through projects like the Nordship 360 DS and 380 DS and a concept report on innovative interior layouts, I helped create visual solutions that facilitated boat sales before they were even built.
The results of our collaboration were showcased at international boat shows, and the yachts gained significant recognition, including nominations for awards such as European Yacht of the Year.

Second 3D modeling project for Nordship Yachts
In my second 3D project with Nordship, the 360 DS model was unveiled in June 2009 through a press release from Nordship. The boat is 36 feet long and was designed for a family of four.
The Nordship 360 DS made its debut at the Düsseldorf International Boat Show, held from January 23rd to 31st, 2010, where my 3D illustrations were showcased alongside the boat.
My task was to create the boat in 3D. Although this was a new design, several details were carried over from the previous model I had modeled, which significantly reduced my workload.
The deck saloon and superstructure were moved further aft compared to Nordship’s other models, giving the boat a long foredeck and a sleek, dynamic appearance.
Since the "Deck Saloon" had been moved so far aft, and the cockpit was designed entirely differently than in other Nordship models, I had a considerable amount of work to remodel the deck and superstructure. Additionally, both the keel and rudder had to be re-modeled due to the new design.
During the 3D modeling process, I contributed some ideas to the design process, but my primary focus was on 3D modeling.
The Nordship 360 DS was nominated for "European Yacht of the Year 2010/2011" in the "Luxury Cruiser" category.

Nordship selected two 3D renderings for their press materials, which were featured in a press release and later used by various media outlets in articles about the boat.

Nordship 360 DS and 380 DS Showcased at Boot Düsseldorf 2010
In January 2010, I attended the Boot Düsseldorf, the annual boat show in Düsseldorf, where Nordship premiered the Nordship 360 DS.
I had contributed to the 3D modeling of this boat for their press and marketing materials.
Next to the two boats exhibited by Nordship, there were banners displaying my 3D illustrations, including one for the Nordship 360 DS.
It was a proud moment to see my work featured on these banners alongside the boats I helped bring to life in 3D.
The other boat displayed, the Nordship 380 DS, was another model I had worked on two years earlier.
Own 3D renderings (not used by Nordship)
In addition to the two official press images of the Nordship 360, I also created additional 3D renderings for presentation purposes.
The images shown here were produced during the project, representing an early stage in the design process.
A few years later, I developed more advanced photorealistic renderings using Keyshot, a tool I acquired after the project's completion.
By using Keyshot, I was able to create highly realistic images of the Nordship 360 and its surroundings. I used this model as an example to showcase Keyshot's ability to produce detailed and lifelike visualizations.

Nordship 360 DS | Animation VR
Following my projects with Nordship Yachts, I developed the capability to offer Virtual Reality (VR) animations using my Keyshot license.
The subsequent VR examples were created as personal experiments and were not part of the services I originally provided to Nordship Yachts.
Later, I offered them the option to use the animations if they were interested.

Nordship 380 DS | April 07
In April 2007, I undertook my first 3D project for Nordship Yachts, modeling the Nordship 380 DS, a luxurious 38-foot motor sailer.
The 3D renderings were used as promotional and marketing materials before the yacht was even in production. These illustrations helped Nordship Yachts exceed their sales expectations, securing more orders than anticipated before the first boat was built.
As part of this project, I also modeled standard sailing equipment and the interior, creating a set of reusable components that would streamline future 3D yacht projects. This has made subsequent 3D modeling for boat designs faster and more efficient.
The Nordship 380 DS is a premium motor sailer, with a standard price of approximately 2.4 million Danish kroner.
Another project with Nordship in the same year was a group report on new concept ideas for a boat interior.
Nordship 380 DS | 3d renderings
Most of the 3D images of the Nordship 380 were created when I originally submitted the project. However, two years later, while working on the 3D model of the Nordship 360, I revisited the Nordship 380 model in AliasStudioTools and produced new renderings. At that time, I decided to work on both models and create updated images of each. As a result, this presentation includes images of the Nordship 380 that were rendered two years after the initial submission. During that time, I had gained more expertise in using AliasStudioTools, which allowed me to achieve noticeably better renderings.
In 2024, I further refined the images by reviewing them in Photoshop and enhancing them with AI-generated elements and styling. For instance, in the interior renderings, I added pillows to the corners of sofas and beds, and placed champagne bottles and flower bouquets on the tables, aiming to create a more vibrant and inviting atmosphere.

Combined Renderings of Nordship DS 380 and 360
After completing my second 3D project with Nordship Yachts on their 360 model in the summer of 2009, I decided to combine the two 3D boat models into one file and create joint renderings.
With my Keyshot license, I revisited this combined 3D file and used Keyshot to render the models in various environmental scenes.
In 2024, I processed all the images through Photoshop, utilizing AI-generated expansions to enhance the visuals. I added several elements to bring the images to life. For example, in some images, I introduced icebergs, while others feature beaches, swans, or swimmers next to the boats.
