Design philosophy
With a strong foundation in industrial design, Roug Design is dedicated to creating products that align with your company's DNA. My focus is on combining usability with aesthetics to achieve the best possible result. Through close dialogue with you, we ensure that the design concept and needs are fully met. Depending on your requirements, I present the final design with detailed 3D visualizations, renderings, working drawings with precise measurements and material selections, as well as potential prototypes.
Some projects have resulted in products now in production, while others have remained as conceptual studies on paper or computer.

Exclusive yacht design project for a European mega yacht company • May 2011 - Present.
As part of this ongoing project, I serve as a concept designer tasked with envisioning the future of luxury yachts. My role involves developing innovative and sleek design concepts for a 50-meter private yacht, focusing on cutting-edge aesthetics, functionality, and the latest in yacht-building technologies.
The company has granted permission to showcase my designs, though their identity remains confidential under an NDA. This project allows me to push creative boundaries.
Blue Technology | Responsible designer
Design and 3D modelling • Wingsail shipping concept • bluetechnology.dk • 2010 - still active.
- Development of a completely new type of ship which, via the technologies of wing sails, multi-hull and lightweight materials, paves the way for zero emission maritime transport.
- Since 2010, I have been responsible for illustrations and participated in the development of the design.
- The concept where first time introduced at the SMM in Hamburg (SMM‚ the worlds leading maritime trade fair at Hamburg Messe) in September 2017, garnering plenty of praise, leading to a establishment skilled advisory board.
- In 2018, we obtained support from the Danish Maritime Foundation and have since then implemented a “Proof Of Concept” with very promising results.
- This type of ship can carry large quantities of cargo without the use of fossil fuels and still at a good speed (average 17 knots on a route across the Atlantic).
- The next loop consists of a JIP that runs over 2021 and 2022 and results in us achieving a TRL6 (Technology Readiness Level 6), after which the EU can take “part ownership” for a period and make sure to spread the technology.
- Potentially, these ships could reduce world CO2 emissions by 2-3% before we hit 2050.

Polish psychologist practice | Graphic design
Logo and sign design to a psychologist practice • 2020.
- Logo to a Polish psychologist practice. I took inspiration from my own logo and used the same font as in my logo which is a font I designed myself.
- At the same time to design a sign for the main entrance to the psychologist's practice.
Palle Steen Christensen - Scenographer | 3D designer
Car styling • Theatre Performance Car • pallesteen.dk • September 2017.
- Developed and designed a 3D concept of a car on a platform based on the Mercedes AMG roadster for a theatre performance, serving as the centrepiece of the stage design.
- The concept of the car involved splitting in half during the act.
- The project ended in the first phase due to financial constraints.
SCSE Capital ApS | 3D illustrator
3D Modelling and Design Proposals for Office Building Facade Renovation • April 2013
I was tasked with developing creative design solutions to revitalize the façade of a bland office building. Using advanced 3D modelling techniques, I produced detailed visualizations that transformed the building’s appearance from plain and uninspiring to a dynamic, welcoming structure.
My focus was on creating an aesthetic that was both visually appealing and functionally sustainable while respecting the original architectural lines.
The project was completed ahead of schedule and delivered before the deadline.

The housing association Østerpark and Teytaud Rådgivende Ingeniører A/S | 3D Stylist
Teytaud. Rådgivende Ingeniører A/S and Ejerforeningen Østerpark
In connection with the renovation of Østerpark’s building on Jagtvej, where I was a housing association board member, I collaborated with TEYTAUD Consulting Engineers A/S to develop 3D models of facade proposals.
The proposals were created for the City of Copenhagen's Technical and Environmental Administration to approve the renovation plans.
TEYTAUD presented two facade pattern proposals, which I integrated into my 3D model of the building. This allowed the City of Copenhagen to visualise and approve the renovation.
The renovation commenced in the fall of 2013.

Ilse Jacobsen • Hornbæk | 3D illustrator
3D styling Ilse Jaobsen • May 2011
- 3D Modeling of Ilse Jacobsen's Iconic Rain Boot
- In collaboration with Ilse Jacobsen, we conducted 3D modelling of their iconic rain boots. The objective was to explore the potential of visualising their products digitally through 3D models. The work was based on a physical boot carefully modeled in 3D.
- After evaluation, using a 3D scanner to capture existing products might be a more efficient solution moving forward, as it would streamline the process and ensure even more accurate models.

The Lithone City bicycle | 3D Designer
3D design concept. April 2010
The client needed a designer and 3D modeller to build up the concept bike cycle in 3D.
Due to lack of funding the project stopped.
A year later I redesigned some details on the bike.

11 years later the client threatened me by committing vandalism against my house and set an impossible deadline to have Google searched information about him to be removed connected to my site.

Nordship Yachts ApS | 3D modeling and advisory designer
Several projects • 3D modelling and concept report • Nordship Yachts • April 2007 - May 2009
Between 2007 and 2009, I had the pleasure of working with Nordship Yachts on several major projects involving 3D modelling, concept development, and design solutions.
This collaboration was instrumental in developing my skills in 3D visualisation and design, while also contributing to Nordship’s innovation and launch of new models.
Through projects like the Nordship 360 DS and 380 DS and a concept report on innovative interior layouts, I helped create visual solutions that facilitated boat sales before they were even built.
The results of our collaboration were showcased at international boat shows, and the yachts gained significant recognition, including nominations for awards such as European Yacht of the Year.

Enemærke & Petersen A/S | Concept designer
Styling concept • eogp.dk • february 2010
This was a communication concept project where contractors and customers/residents could meet in a cozy, well-designed mobile container at the construction site. Inside the mobile container, people could find information about the progress of the renovation/construction project and engage in informal and pleasant conversations between the contractors and residents.
The project was a concept, and given that a significant amount of time has passed since the project was held, and the development manager who hired me for the project has now retired, I feel it is appropriate to present the koncept.

October 2007
Advised two students from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in a business concept competition. They aimed to develop an electronic parking meter that could be placed on a car’s dashboard, automatically issuing a receipt upon parking.
I contributed as a designer to help visualize and refine their idea.
Although they did not progress further in the competition, the project was a valuable learning experience in product development and concept design.

Møller-Jensen Innovation og Design ApS | Photoshop illustrator
Concept styling to the medical market • mjid.dk • October 2006.
- Developed presentation drawings in Photoshop for a pharmaceutical product.
- Conceptual design and visualization for the medical market, focused on presenting a new sampling product.
I was contacted on short notice by Peter Møller to assist with the design and presentation of a medical product using Photoshop.
The project lasted a week and involved visualizing a concept for a sampling product.
Although the product was not ultimately pursued, this project enhanced my skills in Photoshop and the visual presentation of complex concepts.
Brahe Design | Designer

BET (Body, Electrical & Trim) department • Internship when studying at Coventry University • VW South Africa • June - September 2004
- Assisted with design changes for local market models, this includes colour & trim,
minor body and trim component changes, decals, design concepts for associated
projects. Citi Golf A1 - VWSA’s top selling car in South Africa. - Showcased various African leather car interior looks in Photoshop for the
international VW market. - Taught two VWSA designers in photoshop.
