Married to a Polish psychologist, Roug divides his time between Denmark and Poland, where he combines his design work with supporting his wife's practice, bringing a unique cross-cultural perspective to his design approach.

Nordship Yachts - Driving success with 3D marketing

The 3D illustrations to Nordship Yachts proved instrumental in pre-construction sales, enabling effective marketing before production began.

The Nordship 360 DS, showcased through these illustrations, premiered at the Düsseldorf International Boat Show and was later nominated for the European Yacht of the Year award.

Blue Technology - The wing sail innovation

As a design consultant for Blue Technology, Roug contributed with 3D modeling and design illustrations for an innovative wing sail concept, which was first introduced at SMM Hamburg (the world's leading maritime trade fair).

The project later received 1 million DKK from the Danish Maritime Foundation for proof of concept research. Currently, Roug is involved in developing presentation materials for potential investors, as the project moves toward its next phase of development.

Revolutionary golf cart design with a focus on practicality

Drawing from extensive international golfing experience, particularly in South Africa where his parents have resided the last 30 years, Roug developed a groundbreaking concept for a 4-person golf cart.

The design features a unique curved bench that accommodates three adults side-by-side, along with integrated golf bag storage that resolves traditional attachment issues. Roug's global firsthand experience on golf courses shaped the practical aspects of this innovative solution.

Drawing inspiration from helicopter cockpits, this truck concept features wraparound glass panels for enhanced urban safety and visibility, with streamlined forms inspired by natural shapes, particularly insects.

Beyond transportation and industrial design

While primarily focused on transportation design, Roug's expertise extends to broader creative applications. During his time in Poland, he has contributed to the design and organization of his wife's psychology practice, which also functions as an art gallery. The premises are used to exhibit works by various artists, creating a unique dual-purpose space.

The concept has proven successful - the first artist who exhibited there, Emil Goś, was initially a therapy client who has since developed a thriving art career.

Own art work

Roug himself is also an accomplished artist, creating sustainable artwork using recycled materials. His paintings, primarily created on repurposed materials such as back panels from discarded IKEA furniture, demonstrate his commitment to sustainability and creative reuse. Using accumulated leftover paints, each piece tells its own story through unique color combinations and intuitive composition. This artistic practice complements his design work, showing how creativity can transform both spaces and materials.

More power and flexibility – A mobile design upgrade

With the acquisition of new high-performance mobile computing equipment, Roug Design is expanding its ability to provide on-site visualization and design services. This enhancement enables real-time design discussions and immediate styling adjustments during client meetings, streamlining the creative process and improving client collaboration.
